Ikea Cappuccino Cups

It's been a little over a month since I got my espresso machine and I finally got a set of cappuccino mugs so I could work on my latte art at home. I found these great plain 9 oz ceramic cups at Ikea for $4 for a cup and saucer set. Here's a picture of my first attempt at latte art with my own machine and cups. Soy milk, D'arte espresso and an Ikea mug . . . what a good combo.

  2. Great job! What kind of soy do you use? In our coffee shop we use Pacific Soy Barista series. I find that on average I get better microfoam with that than with other generic brands, and it's just as tasty. Keep up the latte art!

  3. Thanks Jonathan! I am definitely still practicing. I also use the vanilla Pacific Soy Barista Series. I actually haven't tried any other types. I buy it in cases of 12 to store at my house since it has a 6 month shelf life, and it's a great option when I'm out of regular milk. I find that using Caffe Darte espresso really helps my latte art since it's a great, super thick consistency.
